Progress Report: Four weeks to go!

We again made great progress in Week 6: About 100 volunteers refurbished nearly 200 bicycles, bringing the total to 1273 bikes ready to donate to children in need. We’ve completed work on all of our single-speed coaster brake bikes, and are already well into refurbishing multi-speed and BMX bikes.

Thank you to the Tenable company’s sales support team and to the Ellicott City Rotary club for spending time with us this week cleaning refurbishing bikes.

We are still collecting names and heights of children in need of bikes for our Giveaway Day, Saturday, December 11. Recipients can be referred to us by schools, nonprofits, churches and synagogues, and government social services organizations, and we’re happy to accept names as long as we have bicycles that have not been claimed.

Our December 11 Giveaway Day will be a busy but happy day—we hope to have 1500 children receive new bikes! Please help us out by signing up for a shift here: fb4kmaryland.org/volunteer/. We expect that over 100 volunteers will be required throughout the day. It will be a fun and rewarding day, not to be missed!
